A number of properties owned by the Republic of Moldova on the territory of Ukraine were passed on non-transparently to joint Moldovan-Ukrainian enterprises, said PPPDA MP Alexandru Slusari, Deputy Speaker of Parliament. He told a news conference that he will request the Court of Auditors to determine how the public property located abroad is managed and will notify the Prosecutor General’s Office of some of the case, IPN reports.

Alexandru Slusari requested the Public Property Agency (PPA) to provide information about Moldova’s possessions situated on the bank of the Black Sea. “I received information about 16 facilities that are managed by the Public Property Agency and some of the public institutions and about eight facilities that were managed by trade unions,” stated the MP.

In the case of three facilities, there is no confirmation of Moldova’s ownership rights. These are the health resorts “Jemchujina”, “Automobilist” and “Blue Light”. “It’s not clear how they work. There are diverse individual enterprises that somehow manage these facilities. They are not registered with the PPA and it’s not clear if effort is made to legalize these facilities. To my mind, such a situation is inadmissible,” noted Alexandru Slusari.

The health resort “Blue Light” was leased out to an individual entrepreneur in Ukraine, but the lease agreement expired in 2014. “It’s not clear what legal status this health resort had had for six years. The PPA said the weather conditions in time seriously damaged the wooden houses and these can no longer be used. They were thus written off. “But who wrote them off? ” asked the vice president of the PPPDA.

By a decision of 2016, the health resort “Mechta” was transferred gratis by the Public Property Agency to the Ministry of Justice. In three years, in 2019, it was established that there was no building at the legal address indicated in the cadastral plan and only the foundations remained there.

“Most of the 16 facilities brought no revenues into the state budget. We will do our best for those to blame to be held accountable,” said Alexandru Slusari, noting that the Party “Dignity and Truth Platform” will monitor the developments.
