The vice president of the Party “Dignity and Truth Platform” (PPPDA) Alexandru Slusari said the current Government led by Prime Minister Ion Chicu is antisocial, is a government of corruption that is unable to unblock the EU macro-financial assistance. It did nothing to overcome the consequences of the bank fraud. During 100 days, this witnessed a number of failures.

In a posting on Facebook, the PPPDA vice president explained that the Chicu Government is antisocial as it allowed the interurban transport fares to be raised by up to 45%, the pensions for over 400,000 people to be indexed by a lower percentage, the salaries to public sector employees to be paid with delay and fuel prices to be significantly and unjustifiably increased.

Alexandru Slusari calls this a government of corruption because it rigged a series of tender contests for the rehabilitation of roads, in the absence of funds and by violating the legislation on public procurement. “The Chicu Government borrowed a number of criminal economic schemes from the Plahotniuc Government and implemented these in particular at Metalferos and started to sell Moldova’s property in Ukraine at derisory prices,” wrote the politician.

Alexandru Slusari said the Government led by Ion Chicu did nothing to overcome the consequences of the bank fraud as it carried out none of the tasks set by the Parliament Decision of October 17, 2019 concerning the report on the elucidation of the circumstances of the bank theft. It refused to institute a moratorium on the law that makes the repayment of the stolen bank funds the people’s burden. But this would have enabled to make 853 million lei available in 2020 for other very important budget costs. It also does nothing to recover the stolen funds.

The Chicu Government is also called a government of international isolation. “The balanced policy consists of the luxury vacations of Igor Dodon in Europe and Asia, statements about the Romanian brothers and the foreign affairs minister’s assertion that the Russian Federation stopped the military conflict in Transnistria,” wrote Alexandru Slusari. “But the biggest problem of this executive is that its key objective is far from the people’s interests and is aimed only at securing the second term in office of Igor Dodon and, implicitly, his freedom.”

The Government led by Ion Chicu was appointed in the middle of last November.
