“Alexandru Ioan Cuza” University of Iasi opens branch in Balti

The Iasi-based University “Alexandru Ioan Cuza” opened a branch at the Balti-based University “Alecu Russo”, where the Moldovans can study physics and economy according to the same programs as the Iasi students. The lectures will be given by teachers from Iasi and Balti, Info-Prim Neo reports.
In a communique, the university of Iasi says admission to its branch in Balti has opened and will continue by July 31 (at the Romanian consulate in Balti between 9am and 6pm).
Applications are now accepted only for the Faculty of Technological Physics. The program of studies lasts for four years. The 80 places available are fully funded by the Ministry of Education and Research of Romania. The branch is opened under a cooperation protocol between the Education Ministries of Moldova and Romania for 2010 – 2011.
The diplomas will be recognized in Moldova, Romania and the EU. Dumitru Luca, the dean of the Faculty of Physics, considers this fact will motivate the students to study at the branch in Balti. “The University “Alecu Russo” will also benefit as we will provide modern laboratory equipment that could be used by all the Moldovan students,” the dean said.
