Moldovan tennis player Alexandra Perper has won her first trophy this year. The 26-year-old athlete emerged victorious in the ITF tournament held in Spain’s Manacor, whose prize money was US$15,000, IPN reports.
Before the final, Perper beat Federica Bilardo of Italy, Sonya Latycheva of Canada, Joanna Garland of the Chinese Taipei and Spain’s Irene Burillo. In the final, she defeated Japan’s Naho Sato 6-1, 7-5 in a game that lasted for an hour and 17 minutes.
In her career, Perper has won another three tournaments in Romania. She takes the 461th spot in the WTA rankings
