A court ruled on Monday to leave Alexandr Stoianoglo for 30 more days under judicial supervision, a form of bail. The prosecution, which requested 60 days, said will appeal.
The suspended Prosecutor General was released from detention on December 9.
Prosecutors have so far completed proceedings on one of the charges against Stoianoglo, the one where the suspended Prosecutor General is accused of illegally authorizing a 163,900 lei severance pay to prosecutor Nicolae Chitoroagă, despite the latter being under criminal investigation at the time.
Stoianoglo also faces charges of abuse of office, passive corruption, perjury and facilitation of a criminal group. Intending to plead not guilty, he has lodged two complaints with the European Court of Human Rights alleging multiple violations.
