After all the 60 voting reports were counted, Alexandr Petkov emerged victorious in the mayoral runoff vote in the municipality of Balti. According to the preliminary data, the Our Party’s candidate polled 59.63% of the vote, while the Party of Socialists’ candidate Maxim Moroșan gained 40.37% of the ballot, IPN reports.
The preliminary data presented by the Central Election Commission show that 15,111 persons voted for Alexandr Petkov. Maxim Moroșan obtained 10,230 votes.
The turnout of voters in Balti was 25.6% as over 25,000 electors cast their ballots there.
