The mayor of Balti Alexandr Petkov suggested Vitalie Balan for the position of deputy mayor, IPN reports.
The mayor said that consultations with the groups of the Municipal Council will take place in the coming days, and a vote could be held at the February 20 meeting.
The position of deputy mayor has been vacant for several months. So far, a new deputy mayor has not been appointed.
The situation in the local administration has become even more tense after deputy mayor Tatiana Dubitskaya was accused of traffic of influence, passive and active corruption. Alexander Petkov convened an extraordinary meeting of the Council, in which he proposed to dismiss Tatiana Dubitskaya, but his request was rejected.
