The alcoholic and tobacco products that are imported into the Republic of Moldova for being used in the Transnistrian region will be mandatorily marked with consumer stamp as from May 1, 2021. This is provided by the amendments made to the law on the implements ton of title IV of the Fiscal Code, IPN reports.
The State Tax Service said the method of purchasing, using and applying the consumer stamps is similar to that referring to excise stamps. In this regard, the legislation stipulates the obligation to mark the alcoholic and tobacco products during manufacture up to the legalization of their import into Moldova.
The design of the consumer stamps was approved by an order of the Ministry of Finance of February 2, 2021, which was published in the Official Gazette on Februarys 12.
The State Tax Service recommends the involved taxpayers to take in advance the actions needed to obtain the consumer stamps by contacting the public institution “Center of Information Technology in Finance” on (022) 21-18-53 or by writing to the email address ctif@ctif.gov.md.
