Radu Albot made a good start at the ATP tournament in Gstaad, Switzerland. The 27-year-old tennis player beat Russia’s Mihail Youzhny, world No. 85, by three sets, IPN reports.
Albot, who takes the 132nd spot in the ATP rankings, lost the first set 4-6, but then recovered and won the next two sets 7-6, 7-5. In the 1/8 finals, Albot plays against the competition’s top seed David Goffin of Belgium, world No. 13.
The Albot – Goffi encounter was scheduled for July 26. The competition in Switzerland also involves Feliciano Lopez, Bautista-Agut Roberto and Fabio Fognini.
