Moldovan tennis player Radu Albot missed the chance to qualify for the second round of the BRD Arad Challenger tournament. He was eliminated in three sets by Damir Dzumhur of Bosnia and Herzegovina, 5-7, 6-3, 3-6, IPN reports.
The prize money of the competition held in Romania is €35,000. Albot was victorious in a Challenger tournament only once – in Fergana in 2013.
The best Moldovan tennis player now competes in the doubles together with Artiom Sitak of New Zealand. The pair defeated Romania’s Marius Copil and Constantin Sturdza and will meet Victor Crivoi and Patrick Grigoriu, also of Romania, in the second round.
