The Chisinau Emergency Service recorded over 90 suspect pandemic flu cases during the last 24 hours.
Silvia Babara, coordinating doctor at the Chisinau Emergency Service, has told Info-Prim Neo that the ambulance doctors reported 92 suspect cases of pandemic influenza A (H1N1) and 514 cases of acute viral infections. Laboratory tests will show how many people actually got the disease, Silvia Babara said.
According to her, the residents of Chisinau are in panic and call the ambulance even if they have a temperature of 37°. The people do not understand that it is the family doctors who can diagnose the flu and possess the Tamiglu drug that is distributed free of charge, even to persons who do not have health insurance.
Two women aged 20 and, respectively, 28 and two men aged 33 and 37 tried to kill themselves by taking pills on Tuesday, December 1. All were taken to Saint Trinity Hospital for detox.
Yesterday and last night, the Emergency Service responded to 1,232 calls, dealing with 10 strokes and 59 cases of trauma.
