The band Akord has been until now the most widely covered participant in the national preselection for Eurovision, according to a monitoring performed by the Real Time Monitoring ESC 2012 project. The radio station Hit FM is the top broadcaster promoting this contest, Info-Prim Neo reports. The monitoring was carried out between January 16 and 24 and covered 27 radio stations and 18 TV channels. During the eight days, Akord appeared 261 times on radio and TV. The band Sunstroke Project and Olia Tira would have taken the second place if they had not been excluded from the contest, being accused of plagiarism. Adrian Ursu and Alexandru Manciu are also among the most widely covered singers. In the middle, there are Nelly Ciobanu, Pasha Parfeny and El Radu with 19, 12 and 11 appearances respectively. Eight participants had by one appearance in the period. Alexandru Popovici, director of MediaForest Moldova that initiated the project, told a news conference that the appearance of the singers on the radio and TV greatly influences the final rankings of the contest. “The public usually chooses a song that is well performed or that is on top on the radio and TV,” he stated. Hit FM headed the rankings of broadcasters with 128 broadcasts of the songs competing in the national contest. It is followed by Europa Plus with 98 broadcasts and Radio 21 with 84 broadcasts. Radio Moldova, which is the organizer of the contest, had ten broadcasts. Among TV channels, the leader is Ru TV with 32 broadcasts, followed by Noroc TV with 14 broadcasts. TV7 and Prime TV had by seven broadcasts. The monitoring results are available on www.mediaforest.md, with the user name office@mediaforest.md and the password ‘mediaforest.
