Jurist and constitutional law expert Teodor Cîrnaț said the concessionaires of the Chisinau International Airport want more transactions to be performed with Avia Invest so that it is later hard to prove who and when made a mistake. He noted the airport should be transferred back to the state as this is a strategic facility that ensures the security of the state, IPN reports.
Teodor Cîrnaț said the airport in 2013 was conceded with serious violations by the previous Governments led by Vlad Filat and Iurie Leancă. “Those four decisions should have been nullified as they were taken illegally. Finally, in 2019, after seeing the effects, the former Sandu Government tried to annul those four decisions based on which the airport was conceded,” the expert stated in a program on Canal 2 TV channel.
According to him, the Chisinau International Airport should be returned to the state as this is a strategic facility that ensures the security of the state. President Igor Dodon played a role in the concession of the airport to the Russians. “In September, Igor Dodon said the future investor will be from the Russian Federation and I said then too that Rothschild was only a piece of this big puzzle. (...) Under the Constitution, Dodon is the guarantor of the sovereignty, independence and territorial integrity of the Republic of Moldova and the supreme commander of the armed forces. The International Airport is a strategic facility that can help fulfill this constitutional duty, but he conceded the airport to the aggressor of the Republic of Moldova, i.e. the Russian Federation,” said the jurist.
On December 23, the press reported that Russian businessman Andrey Goncharenko became the new beneficiary of Komaksavia Airport Invest” Ltd that owns 95% of Avia-Invest – the manager of the Chisinau International Airport – after NR Investment Limited conceded control over the company.
