The passengers who intend to travel to Russia, including the Russian citizens, can fly only based on permission from the Russian authorities, Air Moldova has warned in connection with the extension of the flying restrictions by the Russian Federation until July 31. The operator assures that if the persons do not get permission to fly, the tickets will be changed free of charge.
Contacted by IPN for a comment, the airline’s spokeswoman Iana Zidu said that to get permission to fly, the persons should access www.gosuslugi.ru. Permission is given by the Russian aviation authorities. The passenger registers, receives confirmation and is included in a list that is later issued to AirMoldova.
As to the videos made at the Chisinau International Airport, where a number of persons express their dissatisfaction as they were not allowed to fly, Iana Zidu said those videos date from July 1 and the situation was due to the extension of restrictions. It was established that of those who came to the airport, only one person was put on the list and that person was thus allowed to fly. Later the same day, eight passengers flied to Russia by the same plane.
The spokeswoman also said that there are not many passengers on flights as not many people know that they need to get permission to fly first. The airline also sustains losses. “We assume responsibility and will change the tickets of the passengers who weren’t registered, who didn’t manage to register or lost the flight yesterday or later free of charge,” stated Iana Zidu.
