Political analyst Anatol Taranu predicts serious disputes within the Alliance for European Integration. He said that the settling of accounts within the AIE will aggravate in September as there are no signs of reaching a consensus so far, Info-Prim Neo reports. “For now, they reached an armistice for the alliance to look as a whole. At least, AIE wants to be seen as a structure without internal dissensions. This is partly due to the 20th anniversary of the Independence. As the holiday is nearing, AIE politicians realized that they should act like a united front”, the analyst said. Anatol Taranu thinks that disputes between AIE members will continue as long as there are no viable alternatives for the AIE’s functionality. He added that the image of the Democratic Party’s leader is strongly damaged at this point. “Marian Lupu always delays crucial decisions”, said Taranu. The analyst considers that Lupu would have had more chances to become President if he wasn’t AIE’s official candidate. Taranu dismissed speculation about an alliance between Filat and Voronin, labeling it as suicidal for Filat. “It’s hard for me to believe that PLDM experts, people who are responsible for political analysis and decision making in this party, aren’t aware of this danger and could ignore it”, Anatol Taranu concluded.
