Changes will be made to the procedure for distributing the assistance loan provided by the Government of Poland, Minister of Agriculture and Food Industry Eduard Grama said in a meeting with the Polish Ambassador to Moldova Artur Michalski. The minister reiterated the importance of this project for developing the agrifood sector and asked for support in the relations with the Ministry of Finance of Poland, IPN reports.
“We hope that the first projects will be sent to the Ministry of Finance of Poland by the end of February. Furthermore, we will ask that the project should be extending for at least two more years,” said Eduard Grama, quoted in a press release of the Ministry of Agriculture.
The diplomat handed over the invitation by the Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development of Poland to take part in the International Rural Tourism Fair “Agrotravel”, which will take place in Kielce on April 8-10. He said that the agricultural tourism is a sector that can increase Moldova’s attractiveness.
Artur Michalski underlined the importance of modernizing Moldova’s agriculture and of developing the cooperation relations between the two states, assuring the Ministry’s administration of the necessary support.
The officials also discussed the export of Moldovan wines to Poland and the Moldovan side’s intention to extend the format of the Moldovan Wine Days so that they become a festival.
In January - November 2015, Moldova’s exports of agrifood products to Poland rose by about 5% compared with the corresponding period of 2014. Moldova exported mainly fruit juices, wine and sunflower seeds to this country.
