The agricultural producers will be exempted from paying VAT when they buy agricultural machinery. A bill to this effect is to be examined by Parliament, IPN reports.
“The agricultural producers have only seasonal sales and do not permanently have financial resources, while the agricultural machinery is expensive. In order to support the farmers in their economic activity, they should be exempted from paying VAT on the equipment they purchase,” it is said in the informative note to the bill.
Under the legislation, the agricultural producers that make investments in buildings and transport are refunded the value added tax within three months. But practice shows that the term is not respected and the producers get the money back much later.
