The Government approved the agreement on the modernization of the animal-breeding sector with Poland. The accord is to be signed in Warsaw on May 14, during Prime Minister Iurie Leanca’s official visit to Poland. The document envisions the provision of an assistance loan of €100 million to Moldova in advantageous conditions, IPN reports.
According to a communiqué from the Government, the accord will allow restructuring and modernizing agriculture, especially the farms that manufacture traditional agricultural products (milk and meat) and other competitive agricultural products. The assistance will also enable to make investments in modern technology for processing the agrifood products.
The agreement will contribute to ensuring the implementation of the Association Agreement between Moldova and the European Union.
Thus, the Government of Poland will offer Moldova a loan of €100 million repayable in 25 years, at an annual interest rate of 0.15% and a grace period of five years.
In his trip to Warsaw, the Premier will be accompanied by a group of ministers who will take part in the Annual Meeting of the Board of Governors of the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development.
