The National Library of the Republic of Moldova and the Center of Excellence in Light Industry will cooperate in education and culture by promoting books and reading. The partnership agreement between the two institutions was signed on February 20. After the ceremony, the National Library donated a set of fiction books to the library of the Center of Excellence, IPN reports.
National Library director general Elena Pintilei voiced hope that with the signing of this agreement, the number of visitors of the library will increase as the access of those who study at the Center of Excellence in Light Industry will be facilitated. These will be issued special permits with broad access to the information resources of the National Library. “By this agreement, we pledge to enrich your library with good, specialized literature, within possibilities, and with belles-letters,” stated Elena Pintilei.
For her part, Alexandra Raetski, director of the Center of Excellence in Light Industry, said that until now the Center and the National Library have also cooperated, but not officially. She voiced hope that the students will be faithful readers of the National Library as the examination session is approaching and the Center’s library cannot cope with all the student requests. “We hope that with your contribution, the successes of our students will meet the expectations,” stated Alexandra Raetski.
Under the signed agreement, the librarians of the Center of Excellence in Light Industry will be taught by specialists of the National Library how to increase the students’ access to information. A part of the books of the National Library could be lent to the Center of Excellence for a particular period.
