Agency for Medicines suspends registration certificate for Strim insulin

The Agency for Medicines and Medical Devices suspended the registration certificate for the injectable solution 100 UI/ml 10 ml N1 Strim (international common name: Insulinum glarginum) that is owned and produced by the Ukrainian company Farmak until the quality, inoffensiveness and safety of this drug are clarified, IPN reports.

The Agency said in a press release that the number of reported side effects of this medicine in the recent period increased progressively, being also reported serious side effects. According to the institution, the decision to suspend the certificate will immediately reach the Ministry of Health, Labor and Social Protection, which is to pronounce on the further import and use of this type of drug nationwide.

On July 26, Minister of Health, Labor and Social Protection Ala Nemerenco informed through Facebook that Ivan Antoci was dismissed as director of the Center of Centralized Public Procurement in Health, noting anticorruption officers carried out searches at the Center in connection with the tender contests held to purchase the medicine Strim.
