The first projects to increase energy efficiency financed with money from the Energy Efficiency Fund will be implemented in the public sector, Info-Prim Neo reports, quoting Mihai Stratan, director general of the Agency for Energy Efficiency. In a program on Radio Moldova, Mihai Stratan said the projects were selected out of 215 applications for financing. Most of them concern the thermal insulation of buildings, the replacement of windows and doors, especially at kindergartens, schools and hospitals, and the use of renewable sources of energy, including the installation of solar panels. A sum of 25 million lei was allocated for implementing these projects. The next year, the allocations will rise to 180 million lei, including for the private sector. Mihai Stratan said the Agency for Energy Efficiency that was created this April employed the necessary personnel, who are young, skilled persons with knowledge in the field. In the near future, the Agency will put forward a series of recommendations and programs for consumers about how to increase energy efficiency and rationally use energy.
