From April 1, 2024, the minimum old-age pension will be 2,777.86 lei. The minimum disability pension will be 2,083.40 lei for severe disability, 1,944.50 lei for accentuated disability and 1,388.93 lei for moderate disability. This is provided a draft decision presented by the Ministry of Labor and Social Protection for public consultations, IPN reports.
Starting April 1, all pensions that were set/reviewed under the Law on the Public Pension System, pensions for seniority, pensions of civil servants, pensions of customs officers and military personnel, capitalized periodic and monthly payments, as well as the set disability allowances, etc. will be indexed by 6%. Also, pensions and some of the state social benefits will be indexed by 6%.
In the case of pensions, the indexation will be applied to the part that does not exceed the average monthly salary in the economy forecasted for the current year (13,700 lei). If the amount of the pension calculated according to the law is lower than the amount of the minimum pension for the category concerned, the difference between these amounts, in the form of a solidarity supplement, will be covered with state budgert funds. The solidarity supplement is a non-indexable component of the pension. Its amount varies annually depending on the indexation and increase of the calculated pension and the evolution of the minimum pension.
