After 15 years the Ministry of Internal Affairs decorates its heroes

Approximately 60 participants in the Nistru armed conflict have been decorated with the badge of the Ministry of Internal Affairs “Golden Eagle”. According to the Press Center of MIA, Minister Gheorghe Papuc has awarded the combatants the “Golden Eagle” badge “as gratitude for the participation in the Transnistrean conflict and on the occasion of the 15th anniversary since the Declaration of Independence of the Republic of Moldova”. Two of the combatants were decorated with the “Cross of Merit” of first and second degree. Also 7 disabled of the first and second degree have received TV sets as gifts. Minister Papuc promised the combatants that the MIA will give moral and financial support to the families of the policemen fallen on duty. In the war for the integrity of the Republic of Moldova 28 thousand combatants have taken part in military maneuvers, most of whom were policemen.
