The parties of the Alliance for European Integration (AEI) will hold negotiations with the Communist Party (PCRM) jointly, not separately as the Communist leader demanded. The announcement was made in the Pro TV Chisinau program “In Profunzime”, which involved Valeriu Strelet, of the PLDM, Andrian Candu, of the PDM, and Valeriu Munteanu, of the PL, Info-Prim Neo reports.
“If we speak about the format of the talks, immediately after my first statement I made the necessary rectification and said that given the AEI’s decision taken in the Council’s meeting, we accept only the format of the Alliance on the one hand and the opposition on the other hand. We continue to support this idea,” said the leader of the Liberal-Democratic parliamentary group Valeriu Strelet.
Democrat MP Andrian Candu said the PCRM cannot ignore the Alliance, saying that they do not recognize it. “There is a parliamentary majority as juridical notion and a parliamentary majority that assumed responsible for the governance in this country. Like it or not, but our government is recognized at national and foreign level. One cannot ignore the parliamentary majority, saying that it does not exist and the discussions should be held with every party separately,” said Andrian Candu.
Liberal lawmaker Valeriu Munteanu said that on September 23 the Alliance decided to hold negotiations with the PCRM in order to identify a solution to the political crisis and there is no other solution in this respect. “They should understand that the Alliance for European Integration will discuss with the Communist Party as the governing entity. If the PCRM does not recognize the AEI as governing entity, the situation is very and very complicated,” said Valeriu Munteanu.
Valeriu Strelet also said that the aim of the talks between the AEI and the PCRM is to find a solution to elect the head of state so as to avoid early elections. Valeriu Munteanu stressed the AEI cannot negotiate about the PCRM’s participation in the governance.
On September 23, the Alliance decided to open talks with the Communist Party in order to find a solution and overcome the political crisis. For its part, the PCRM said it will negotiate with the member parties of the AEI only separately.
