The leader of the Party “Dignity and Truth Platform” (PPPDA) Andrei Năstase after the presidential elections of 2016 intended to leave the post of party’s president.

“There were moments when I analyzed things to see if the problem resided in me. I consulted sociologists and specialists told me that it was a wave that will pass and no hasty decisions should be taken,” IPN quoted Andrei Năstase as saying in the talk show “Natalia Morari’s Politics” on TV8 channel.

However, now, after the defeat he suffered in this November’s presidential elections, the politician says he does not have any reason to quit as party leader.

“As I supported the party, didn’t steal, didn’t lie and didn’t show disrespect for the people and served the state of which I form part and contributed to freeing this state from such a criminal as Plahotniuc, as I brought some freedom here, I have my family near me and we are all at home, I do not have reasons to take such a step,” said Andrei Năstase, noting that the PPPDA is now working on a party reformation plan.

In the presidential elections of this November, Andrei Năstase won 3.26% of the ballot, which is 43,924 votes.
