Admissions to colleges under way

The colleges in Moldova will admit students from July 1 to July 31. The applicants for budget-funded places will be admitted according to the descending average contest mark, Info-Prim Neo reports, quoting the Ministry of Education and Youth. The students that will not get a budget-paid place can apply for a place on contract and pay tuition fees. They will be selected according to the descending average contest mark. The applicants will file an application, the school records in original with the relevant annex, a standard medical certificate, four photographs 3X4 cm, first-third degree diplomas won in contests. If need be, the applicants will present a certificate issued by the local tutelage or guardianship authority for orphans and children that remained without parental care, a relevant medical certificate showing that the applicant has an invalidity degree, the relevant school standing certificate for children with physical or sensorial deficiencies, the receipt showing that the contest admission charge was paid and other documents. The orphans, invalids and applicants with physical or sensorial deficiencies can apply for 15% of the budget-funded places stipulated in the admission plan. The applicants for such a place must present justificatory documents. The applicants to pedagogical faculties benefit from concessions if both of the parents (or the parent in one-parent families) are teachers. The results of the colleague admission contests will be announced on August 3, while of the contests in vocational schools – on August 28. If not all the places are filled, a new contest will be held during August 3 - 15. Under the admission plan for this year, 11,900 students will be admitted to colleges. The studies of 5,900 persons of these will be financed from the state budget. 13,000 students will enter vocational schools, 12,200 out of whom on a contract-free basis. Admissions to vocational schools started on June 25.
