Admission to the School of Advanced Journalism has begun

The Independent Journalism Centre (IJC), in cooperation with the University of Missouri School of Journalism (USA) and the Paris-based Journalism School and Training Centre (France), announce the admission to the Chisinau School of Advanced Journalism for 2007-2008
The admission is open to 20 Moldovan citizens with a completed bachelor degree or higher from diverse fields of study (social sciences, technical sciences, arts, medicine and others), of which 10 will benefit from scholarships. The teaching staff of the Chisinau School of Advanced Journalism will consist of leading Moldovan journalists and trainers as well as foreign experts.
The courses will be held for a period of 10 months and include month-long courses in: News Reporting, Broadcast Reporting, Media Law and Ethics and shorter courses in: Online Reporting, Computer Assisted Reporting, Business and Economic Reporting, Photojournalism, Media Management, Visual Journalism and others.
Course work will be followed by a required four-week internship and a final practical project. At the graduation the students will receive certificates signed by IJC, the University of Missouri School of Journalism and the Paris-based Journalism School and Training Centre.
The applicant will need to provide a resume, a letter of motivation, three writing samples, two letters of recommendation, a copy of their university diploma, and a copy of their applicant’s passport. The deadline for submission is June 15.

The admission to the Chisinau School of Advanced Journalism was preceded by the Admission Caravan 2007-2008, which was launched on May 17. Presentations of the enrolment conditions, the courses which are studied at the School of Advanced Journalism, the studying conditions and the opportunities which the students get after graduating the School of Advanced Journalism were organised in the towns and university centres of Cahul, Comrat, Balti, Tiraspol and Chisinau during the event. The presentations were attended by graduates from both exact and humanistic faculties and officials from the civil society and from the local administration bodies.
