Admission to the Chisinau School of Advanced Journalism for 2008/2009 school year has begun

The Independent Journalism Centre (IJC), in cooperation with the Missouri School of Journalism (University of Missouri) and the Paris-based Journalism School and Training Centre, announces the start of the admission campaign to the Chisinau School of Advanced Journalism (CSAJ) for the 2008/2009 school year, Info-Prim Neo reports. According to a press release from IJC, the School is based on advanced postgraduate programmes in training journalists and has been conceived to meet the highest international standards in the journalism practiced in Europe and the United Sates of America. The admission is open to 20 persons with higher education in diverse fields of study (social sciences, technical sciences, arts, medicine and other). Courses are offered on a scholarship basis (the School offers 10 scholarships); free of charge (tuition-free and without scholarship); and for a charge (sponsorship from media institutions, non-profit and governmental organisations is welcome). The teaching staff of the Chisinau School of Advanced Journalism will consist of leading Moldovan journalists and trainers as well as foreign experts. The School provides its students with equipment for photo, video and radio labs, as well as other material needed for them to become professional journalists. The courses are held for a period of 10 months and include News Reporting, Broadcast Reporting, Media Law and Ethics, Online Reporting, Investigative Journalism, Business and Economic Reporting, Photojournalism, Media Management, and other. Graduation certificates will be awarded following a final practical project and will be signed by IJC, the Missouri School of Journalism and the Paris-based Journalism School and Training Centre. The candidates will need to submit an application form, a resume, a letter of motivation, three writing samples, two letters of recommendation, a copy of their university diploma (final year students will be required to provide a confirmation), and an ID copy . The admission will be based on the results of a written test and an interview.
