Those who want to become doctors or pharmacists can submit the necessary documents between July 21 and August 2. This year’s educational offer of the State University of Medicine and Pharmaceutics “Nicolae Testemitanu” includes 700 places, 475 of which are budget-funded, while 225 are tuition-based. Applications can be submitted at the university’s four faculties: Medicine, Dentistry, Pharmacy, and Public Health. Training at the University is based on four languages – Romanian, Russian, English and French, IPN reports, quoting a communiqué of the university’s public relations service.
“The novelty of this year’s admission session is that all the candidates will go through a single contest, regardless of the place of residence (rural or urban) and the language of learning in the preuniversity education institution (Romanian or Russian),” said Vladislav Badan, deputy secretary responsible for the admission commission at “Nicolae Testemitanu” University. “In general, the contest’s methodology is the same as last year. All the holders of Baccalaureate diplomas, vocational school diplomas or another equivalent document can take part in our university’s admission contest. The high school graduates will be given priority. The ratio will be 80:20,” he stated.
15% of the budget-funded places are designed for such categories as orphans, children with disabilities, children whose both parents are invalids or participants in wars, etc. A number of 45 budget-funded places will be provided to graduates of the Moldovan-administered schools located in Transnistria.
Vladislav Badan also said that the applicants will be able to compete at three specialties of any university simultaneously, as last year. But they will be enrolled at only one faculty of a higher education institution.
The tuition fees at “Ncolae Testemitanu” University remained unchanged. The fee at the Faculty of Medicine is 17,400 lei, at the Faculty of Pharmacy – 18,200 lei, while at the Faculty of Dentistry – 20,300 lei a year.
