The Rascani Prosecutor’s Office charged the administrator of the Chisinau restaurant where several dozen people poisoned themselves with food during a wedding party two weeks ago. The woman is investigated on the outside. The prosecutors accused her of keeping, selling and providing dangerous products and services that resulted in the death of a person, IPN reports.

According to a communiqué from the Prosecutor General’s Office, the Rascani District Court rejected the prosecutors’ request to investigate the administrator under house arrest. The prosecutors announced that they will challenge the court decision.

The restaurant’s director, who was also charged, is also free as the court refused to put him under house arrest for 30 days.

About 50 persons were admitted to the hospital with food poisoning after they took part in a wedding party at that restaurant on September 6. A man aged 38 from Ungheni died. The Chisinau Public Health Center informed that the bacterium Salmonella enteritidis was detected in the poisoned invitees and employees of the restaurant. The bacterium was also found in the samples of poultry.
