Administration of Carmez SA investigated over abuse of power

The administration of the meat processing company Carmez SA is criminally investigated over abuse of power. The Chisinau Prosecutor’s Office indicted three of the heads of the joint stock company, including the director general, Info-Prim Neo reports, quoting the press service of the General Prosecutor’s Office. The director general of Carmez SA will be under arrest for 30 days, while the head of the economic, financial and accounting division and the head of the production and import - export division of the company will be under house arrest for the same period. The Court of Rascani district on April 23 issued arrest warrants against the three persons. The prosecutors accuse the three of devising a ‘criminal plan’ to obtain the major holding in the company. They tried to concentrate the ordinary shares issued by SA Carmez so as to exclude the involvement of any other applicants from outside. The three managers are accused of damaging morally and materially the company’s shareholders in extremely large amounts by such acts, the communiqué from the General Prosecutor’s Office says.
