ADEPT launches webpage for local elections

The website www.alegeri.md, launched by the Association for Participative Democracy (ADEPT), has a new page dedicated to the June 5 local elections. It contains information about the electoral contenders, exit polls, analyses, debates and other events and will provide the election results in Chisinau, Info-Prim Neo reports. In a news conference on June 2, ADEPT executive director Igor Botan said the webpage is designed to help the people find out more information about the local elections. “We convey to the voters the message that their vote counts and they should actively take part in the June 5 elections. The people must make a conscious decision,” said Igor Botan. ADEPT program coordinator Elena Prohnitski said the webpage will include the income statements of the runners, press releases and communiqués, contenders’ electoral videos and election monitoring reports as well as relevant legislation and regulations, the documents adopted by the Central Election Commission and information about all the local elections since 1994 and the parliamentary elections. It also contains a window of the socialization network Twitter, where there are provided the latest news about the electoral process. The results of the exit polls and the election outcome for Chisinau municipality will be published on the website on the election day. The information is available in three languages – Romanian, English and Russian. The webpage will be accessible after the local elections as well so that the people are able to obtain the information they need. ADEPT monitored all the elections that have taken place in Moldova since 1994.
