The number of railcars on the Chisinau-Moscow and Chisinau – Saint Petersburg routes will be increased by about 40 in the period between December 20 and January 1. Such a decision was taken by the state-run railroad company IS “Calea Ferata din Moldova” following an increase in the number of passengers who came from Russia in December, Info-Prim Neo reports. According to a communiqué from the company, the number of passengers during the winter holidays increases by 50%. Therefore, by two additional trains will run on the Moscow-Chisinau route during December 21-31. According to the schedule, the first train will depart from Moscow at 01.16, will go through Cuchurgan-Bender and will reach the destination the next day at 04.34. The second train will start at 14.19, will go through Moghiliov-Podolski-Ocnita and will arrive in Chisinau at 20.10 on December 27. Additional railcars and trains will be also available on January 7 and 14. As regards the number of passengers on the Chisinau – Bucharest train, it does not depend on the winter holidays, but rather on the vacation of the students. The railcars on this route are not increased in number. If such a step is needed, IS “Calea Ferata din Moldova” is ready to take it. The price of tickets on the Chisinau – Moscow route is not raised before the winter holidays on Moldova’s territory. It mainly depends on the tariff policy of Russia and Ukraine and on the exchange rate for the reciprocal discounts (the exchange rate of the Swiss franc).
