Postal shipments and goods sent from Ukraine will be subject to additional security measures. This measure was implemented following the incident on January 7, when the Border Police identified an improvised explosive device concealed inside a toy during a security check of cargo parcels, IPN reports.

According to a press release from the Civil Aviation Authority, all postal shipments and goods sent from Ukraine have been classified as "High Risk Cargo & Mail", and processing these shipments at cargo terminals will be subject to strict additional security control measures, which will remain in effect indefinitely.

The implementation of these additional measures to prevent risk situations and ensure the highest level of security in air transport was decided by the Aviation Security Risk Management Group.

On January 7, during a routine inspection of postal shipments at Chișinău International Airport, border police officers and customs officials discovered a suspicious object resembling a toy car, which appeared to contain components of an explosive device. The object was stopped and examined in an X-ray scanner. Authorities requested the intervention of the Technical-Criminalistic and Judicial Expertise Center team from the General Police Inspectorate, which successfully identified and disarmed the object.
