The Atatürk International Airport in Istanbul resumed work, according to the latest reports. In a press release, the Civil Aviation Authority of Moldova says the Turkish Airlines will operate the next freight with a larger aircraft than it was planned earlier so as to transport the passengers of the cancelled flights too. No additional flights are yet expected, IPN reports.

The passengers flying from/to Chisinau by the Turkish Airlines can also contact the representative office of the Turkish Airlines in Chisinau on +22 52 54 726. The flights to Antalya are operated according to schedule.

Today’s 8:15am Istanbul-Chisinau flight and 10:45am Chisinau-Istanbul flight operated by the Turkish Airlines were cancelled owing to the tensions in Turkey. The 55 passengers registered for Istanbul and the 97 passengers registered for Chisinau were redirected to other flights. The 8:30pm flight to Istanbul operated by the national airline Air Moldova will take off as planned.

According to the latest CNN reports, over 160 persons died as a result of the military coup attempt in Turkey. More than 1,000 persons were hurt. The police arrested over 1,500 plotters.
