Acute viral infections decreasing in number

The number of acute viral infections has decreased compared with the corresponding period last year, Info-Prim Neo reports. Last week, there were recorded 4,484 such cases, a decrease of about 1,000 cases. In the March 11 meeting of Chisinau City Hall officials, Health Division head Luminita Suveica said that the number of cases of acute viral infections and of season flu has declined. “A downward trend started as the height was recorded a week ago. The number of cases of seasonal flu also diminished. As many as 203 cases of flu were reported last week. 69 children were hospitalized,” said Suveica. A number of 711 cases of flu had been recorded in the municipality of Chisinau so far this year.
