Representatives of the electoral bloc ACUM said when they enter Parliament, they will ensure the rule of law and fair justice and will fight corruption, IPN reports.

The president of the Party “Action and Solidarity” Maia Sandu told a news conference that the rule of law is indispensable for economic development, the rise in incomes and living standards. ACUM promises to build a justice system that will protect the rights and freedoms and will ensure the equality of everyone before the law.

ACUM undertakes to clear the justice system of corrupt and vulnerable people and to promote meritocracy in the career of judges and prosecutors. It pledges to reform the Supreme Court of Justice so that this becomes a real guarantor of the correctness of the judicial system and to strengthen the National Integrity Authority.

The president of the Party “Dignity and Truth Platform” Andrei Năstase said justice in Moldova is now coordinated politically and is subordinated to the personal, oligarchic interests of Vladimir Plahotniuc (the leader of the PDM) and its mafiotic group. The law is interpreted abusively, to the detriment of the people. In Moldova, there are persecutors who fabricate evidence and cases and judges who do not apply the law and allow dangerous mafiots to walk freely.

Among the commitments in the justice system, ACUM noted the annulment of the law on citizenship by investment and approval of the Magnitsky Act. The last combines the protection of human rights with the  toughening up of the rules for corrupt officials involved in illegal financial transactions.

ACUM also pleads for excluding the unjustified imposition of arrest and interconnection of telephone conversations, introduction of an electronic system for monitoring the cases investigated by the police and prosecutors, eradicating torture and improving the detention conditions in penitentiaries and remand prisons and in psychiatric institutions.

The electoral bloc ACUM DA PAS is under No. 2 on the ballot.
