The documents required for the registration of DA Platform and PAS, ACUM Electoral Bloc, for participation in the snap parliamentary elections on October 20th, have been submitted to the Central Election Commission (CEC) on Tuesday, August 27th. The action is a consequence of the decision of the two parties, Action and Solidarity Party (PAS) and Dignity and Truth (DA) Platform Political Party, to go to elections as a bloc on October 20th, IPN reports.
The two parties decided to participate as ACUM Bloc in the general local elections of October 20th as well. According to PAS, the submission of documents to CEC for the Bloc’s registration will be made when the party’s constituents, pursuant to the provisions of their statutes, agree on the majority of joint candidates at the local elections.
Asked by IPN, Rodica Sîrbu, head of CEC's Communications, Public Relations and Media Directorate, said that the submitted set of documents should be examined, and subsequently the CEC would decide on the registration of the party at one of its next meetings.
The Central Election Commission has scheduled a meeting for Wednesday, August 28th.
On October 20th, 2019, there will be held general local elections, as well as snap parliamentary elections in four uninominal constituencies no.17, 33, 48 and 50. It happens after MPs Andrei Nastase, Maia Sandu, Viorel Melnic and Vladimir Plahotniuc gave up their mandates.
