Late actor Vlad Ciobanu was conferred the Order of the Republic posthumously in profound respect for his special contribution to promoting performing arts and to training young talents for the prestigious artistic career and for high skillfulness in interpreting memorable roles in theater and cinematography.
A decree to this effect was signed by President Maia Sandu on December 31. The award was handed over to the late actor’s daughter Ioana Ciobanu-Boțan, IPN reports.
Maia Sandu said Vlad Ciobanu passed away, but from the other world will continue to light the path of his pupils in whom he invested soul, cultivated values and dignity, as he did for the own children.
Theater and film actor Vlad Ciobanu died on November 22, 2020. He suffered from leukemia.
