This time, the activity of the Transnistrian Settlement Process in the 5+2 format was stimulated not in Tiraspol or in Chisinau, but from Vienna, former member of the Joint Control Commission (JCC) Ion Leahu stated in the program “Fabrika” on Publika TV channel, IPN reports.
“The Austrian chairmanship, being probably instructed by its predecessors, the Germans, and after learning the situation, made a call: prepare something if you have what to come with to the 5+2 format and we will convene it or we will not convene it to only see how handsome we are and what tie we wear,” stated Ion Leahu.
According to him, as no concrete results have been reached in the negotiations by the Sides, Austria didn’t accept to convene this format. “Since the agreement on the opening of the Gura Bicului – Bychok Bridge signed by Gheorghe Balan and Vitaly Ignatiev was put on the table, they agreed to immediately convoke the format,” stated the ex-member of the JCC.
Secretary of State at the Ministry of Economy and Infrastructure Vitalie Iurcu said the political representatives to the Transnistrian Settlement Process on behalf of Chisinau and Tiraspol on November 25 signed four protocol decisions that regulate education, agriculture and telecommunications.
In particular, it was decided to reduce the rental for eight Romanian-language schools. The lease will be valid for a period of ten years and could be extended. The adjoining land could be used by the institutions. “It was also decided to ensure the free movement of students, teachers and teaching aids,” stated Vitalie Iurcu.
He added that in the field of agriculture, there was annulled a previous decision that hampered the activity of farmers in Dubasari district. Now the farmers can obtain a temporary registration certificate based on which they will be able to cultivate their land. The chief negotiators of Chisinau and Tiraspol also reached an agreement on the apostillng of diplomas issued by the Tiraspol University “Taras Shevchenko” so that these could be recognized internationally.
Under the signed protocols, measures will be taken to restore the mobile and fixed-line telephone connection and the electronic communications infrastructure between the two banks of the Nistru River.
