Activities to celebrate 25 years of independence

The Government will stage a number of activities on the 25th anniversary of the declaration of independence. Prime Minister Pavel Filip on April 14 chaired the first meeting of the national committee for organizing the activities decided to the 25th anniversary of the declaration of independence. The meeting discussed the conception of the National Plan of Action “Moldova-25”, IPN reports.

According to the Government’s press service, the committee’s deputy chairwoman, Minister of Culture Monica Babuc presented the preliminary action plan that includes canonical and cultural activities abroad and activities centering on Moldova’s European course, the cultural heritage, values and destinies that built the country’s history and present.

In this connection, Pavel Filip said the 25th anniversary of the declaration of independence is an occasion for promoting Moldova’s image abroad. He asked to finalize the bill and to submit it to the Government for approval as soon as possible. He also proposed including activities for the Moldovan diaspora in coordination with the Bureau for Diaspora Relations and developing a communication plan.

The national committee for organizing the activities decided to the 25th anniversary of the declaration of independence was set up by a Government decision on March 14 this year.
