A group of employees working at the Tighina State Forestry Agency said the current manager during many years has committed illegalities at the Forestry Company. The employees made an approach to Minister of Agriculture, Regional Development and Environment Vasile Batca and to “Moldsilva” Agency director Ion Haralampov whereby they demand to examine the situation and take measures in relation to director Iurie Apostolachi.
In a news conference at IPN, head of the Harbovat Forestry Enterprise Gheorghe Sucitu, who heads the Trade Union Committee of the Tighina State Forestry Agency, said the current director commits economic illegalities and illegalities in relation to “inconvenient” employees.
“There is chaos now at the Tighina State Forestry Agency owing to the behavior of employer Apostolachi Iurie towards employees. Six persons have been fired for the reason that they do not satisfy the requirements and interests of Mister Apostolachi,” stated the head of the Trade Union Committee.
According to Gheorghe Sucitu, foresters, engineers, an economist and a jurist have been dismissed. Through the agency of a limited liability company, the director defrauded the state-run company of hundreds of thousands of lei and then employed the director of the Ltd as a forester because he had obligations towards this.
Harbovat Forestry Enterprise deputy head Iurie Diru said he reported numerous cases of stealing of wood by employees, but the involved persons were reinstated in important posts by the director of the Tighina State Forestry Agency.
Ion Kovalev told the same news conference that he worked as a woodman, but was discharged when he refused to make false statements against Gheorghe Sucitu. The current director takes employees to execute works for him at his home, but does not pay them.
Engineer Alexei Turcanu said he was threatened he will not work long yet at the company, noting he cannot explain such a behavior by the director.
The four employees of the company presented the approach made to the Ministry and the Forestry Agency “Moldsilva”, which, according to them, was signed by about 20 employees who either work or were afraid to come to the news conference.
