The mayor’s office of Ciadir-Lunga town cannot perform financial operations to honor its commitments to the public institutions as its accounts were blocked. According to the official website of the town, the accounts were blocked after the Ciadir-Lunga district court passed a definitive decision to recover the debts for water and sewerage, IPN reports.
The debt of the mayor’s office totals 274,325 lei. On July 30, the local authorities sent a letter to the water supplier SA “Apa – Termo”, by which it asked setting a debt rescheduling timetable for two months. But a compromise could not be reached and the company went to court. As a result, the account of the mayor’s office was blocked on August 5. Under the court decision, the money was forcedly withdrawn from the account of the mayor’s office and was transferred to SA “Apa – Termo”.
According to the local authorities, some of the employees of preschool institutions haven’t been paid salaries yet.
The administration of Ciadir-Lunga town is looking for financial resources to honor its obligations to the employees of its subdivisions, said sources in the mayor’s office.
