Among the biggest accomplishments of the political year 2018 were the stabilization of the situation in all the areas of activity in Republic of Moldova and the government’s rapprochement with the people. At the same time, among the failures is the invalidation of the Chisinau early mayoral elections and antagonization of society before the parliamentary elections. Such opinions were stated in the program “Reply” on Prime TV channel, IPN reports.
Political commentator Anatol Țăranu said the stabilization of the situation in the country in all the areas was the biggest accomplishment of the current political year even if the economic stabilization, for example, does not yet offer very serious chances for explosive development. The upcoming parliamentary elections are yet a very big problem that could change the development course of the Republic of Moldova. The struggle between the pro-European government and the pro-European opposition, the so powerful antagonization of society could push one of the sides into the arms of the anti-Europeans. “And this is the biggest danger,” stated the analyst.
According to political analyst Andrei Andrievski, the fact that the state turned its face to the citizens and became social was the biggest accomplishment of 2018. The appearance of the pro-Moldova idea is also an accomplishment. Among the government’s failures is the fact that it allowed negative opinions about the Republic of Moldova to enter the European Parliament. The invalidation of the Chisinau mayoral elections was also a negative thing.
Journalist Nicolae Federyuk said the government had a much better performance compared with the opposition, at least by the behavior in the public sphere, the launched projects and the provided arguments. The opposition had a poor performance in the course of the departing year. “The opposition failed the test this year and there were very important reasons for this, including the fact that it lacked the skill to speculate,” noted the journalist.
