Accident on Albisoara St was due to bad state of pipe

Deputy mayor of Chisinau Vlad Cotet and the director of SA Termocom Mihail Cernei provided details about the February 21 accident, when 22 apartment buildings remained without heat for a day. The accident happened on a heat pipe of 530 millimeters located at the intersection of the streets Albisoara and Ismail, owing to the bad state of the pipe, Info-Prim Neo reports. “Effort was made to fix the problem and the 22 blocks were reconnected to the heat supply by 6pm. In the evening, the heating system worked as usual,” Vlad Cotet said Monday. The pipe was good outside, but rotten inside, said Mihail Cernei. “Fissures appeared following the sudden warming. The pipe is over 30 years old. Two years ago, we changed a pipe there and the situation was the same. We must take measures,” he stated. He also said that depending on the weather, the exit temperature of the heat may be reduced from 72 to 69 degrees from next week.
