A man has died and a woman was taken to hospital following an accident in the village of Rautel, Falesti district. The driver lost control of the steering wheel and drove the car into a ditch.
The press officer of the Falesti Police Inspectorate, Eugenia Molceanov, said that the driver, a 61-year-old man from Falesti, was traveling from the village of Rautel in the direction of Balti municipality, lost control of the steering wheel and went off the opposite direction. He then crashed into a tree and ended up in a drain.
The man died on the spot. The passenger, a 56-year-old woman, was hospitalized at the Balti Clinical Hospital.
Andreea Galici, a spokeswoman for the Balti Clinical Hospital, told IPN that the woman sustained a concussion and will continue her treatment at home.
