Access to safe drinking for all Moldovans in 42 months

Access to safe drinking water for all the inhabitants of Moldova will be ensured in three and a half years, or, at least, this is the goal of the project “Implementing the Targets under the Protocol on Water an Health”, which was launched on Wednesday. According to the Ministry of Environment, the project aims to facilitate access to improved water supply and sanitation systems for the population of Moldova, reduce the incidence of diseases associated with unsafe water, and improve water management. The Ministry of Environment, the Ministry of Health, the UN Economic Commission for Europe and the Swiss Agency for Development and Cooperation signed on the same day a Memorandum of Understanding on the implementation of the project “Implementing the Targets under the Protocol on Water an Health”. The document will help to strengthen the Government's capacity to meet the targets and target dates under the Protocol.
