The access to the playgrounds and sports facilities situated in parks, public areas and yards of apartment buildings in Chisinau is restricted. These were isolated with tape and prohibition signs were placed there.
Contacted by IPN for a comment, the head of the Public Amenities Division Ion Burdiumov said that given the high number of infections with the novel coronavirus, Mayor General Ion Ceban ordered to isolate the playgrounds and sports facilities.
The playgrounds and sports facilities will be inaccessible at least until the end of June. The ban will be lifted or extended, depending on the epidemiological situation.
Even if access to them is banned, these facilities are anyway disinfected daily as an additional precautionary measure, in case persons ignore the ban and behave irresponsibly, stated Ion Burdiumov.
He also said that the local authorities do not intend to penalize the people. They want society to be more responsible in the current risky situation. The functionary called on children and grownups to show responsibility and to realize the eventual dangers to health.
