Starting with August 1, access to the terminal of the Chisinau International Airport is provided only to personnel and to persons involved in crossborder traffic. Separate entry and exit corridors will be available at the airport, IPN reports.
The Border Police said access to the Airport will be allowed on the presentation of the plane ticket and travel documents, which will be checked by representatives of the Airport’s administration. Later, the passenger will register for the flight, will have the documents verified, will pass the security check and will wait for the flight in the sterile hall. At the first security filter at the entrance to the airport, the border police will scan the luggage.
It is banned parking vehicles around the Airport. Parking is allowed only in special places where access is ensured by the Airport’s administration by additionally examining vehicles.
Joint teams of the National Public Security Inspectorate and the General Inspectorate of Carabineers will provide the necessary assistance in ensuring security at the Airport. The measures are taken following the multiple bomb hoaxes that disrupted the Airport’s operations.
