ACC will ask again CMC to increase prices for water and sewerage services

„Apa-Canal Chisinau” JSC (ACC) will request from the Municipal Council of Chisinau (CMC) to change the pricing for water and sewerage services or will ask the local budget to compensate the financial loss from the first half of the year. At a meeting in the City Hall on Monday, August 28, the director of ACC, Constantin Becciev, has stated that at the moment 2 projects are prepared and will be sent to the Municipal Council of Chisinau; these projects persistently require the review of the tariffs for water supply and sewerage, or offer as an alternative the coverage of the MDL 34 mln loss bared by the supplier since the beginning of the year. Becciev has qualified the actual financial status of the company as “extremely unfavorable”. With a delay of one month, ACC has recently paid the bills towards Union Fenosa and is currently not able to pay the wages to its employees. Presently, Chisinau residents are paying the smallest price from Moldova per 1 cubic meter of water and sewerage – MDL 2.62. Economic agents for the same service are billed with MDL 14.9 lei, without VAT.
